Mapping Information

CTA locates and assigns a GPS generated latitude/longitude address to the following:

• Mileposts, bridges, tunnels and ROW structures
• 911 jurisdictional boundaries
• PTC wayside bases
• Customer siding locations
• Defect detectors
• Public roads, streets or highways that intersect
• US DOT grade crossing identification numbers
• Public "place names" (found on common maps)
• Railroad "place names" (identified by the railroad)
• Major underground or overhead utilities on ROW
• Client specified information

This information is then plotted and depicted on local area maps that show the adjoining roadway system.  Using this information, emergency responders can locate and plan in advance the best roadway access to the railroad's property.

Map plots are captured in .shp (shape) files and can be used to produce hard copy maps
